The Italjet Dragster is not a normal scooter — that's why you bought it. Exposed trellis frame, hub-centre steering, and an engine that begs to be ridden hard. We service more Dragsters than anyone in Singapore (we're the crew behind the local Dragster scene), so here's the honest guide we give every new owner who walks into our workshop.
Singapore changes the math
Factory schedules are written for European riding. Singapore is stop-start traffic, 90% humidity, year-round heat and the occasional flash flood — all of which age oil, belts and brake fluid faster. Our workshop recommendations below reflect what we actually see when Dragsters come through our doors.
What your Dragster needs, and when
- Engine oil: hot climates and short trips punish oil. For daily riders we recommend not stretching intervals — regular changes are the cheapest insurance a high-strung single can get.
- Gear oil: small quantity, big job. It gets checked or changed at every full service with us — it's minutes of work that saves a gearbox.
- CVT — belt, rollers, clutch: the Dragster's character lives here. We inspect the CVT at every full service; belts and rollers wear noticeably faster if you ride it the way Italjet intended. Judder or high revs with less go? Read our CVT judder guide.
- Valve clearances: a periodic check that too many workshops skip because it takes time. Tight valves on a hot-running single lead to hard starting and, eventually, expensive head work.
- Coolant: the 200 and 300 run hot in traffic. Coolant condition and level get checked at every service; a cooling system flush is cheap compared to an overheated engine.
- Brakes & tyres: the Dragster stops and turns harder than most scooters, and wears accordingly. Pads, discs and tyre condition are on every service checklist.
Questions Dragster owners always ask us
“Can I make it faster?” Yes — properly. We fit genuine Malossi upgrades (variators, exhausts, big bore kits) matched to how you actually ride. Add parts to your booking online and we fit them at your appointment; parts need about two weeks to arrive.
“Why does servicing cost more than my friend's NMAX?” It mostly doesn't — our prices are nett and shown online before you book. What you're avoiding is the “bring it down first, then we'll see” surprise bill.
“How do I book?” Pick your Dragster model online — 125, 200 or 300 — see the full nett price, choose a slot (same-day available for full servicing) and pay online. Or WhatsApp 8687 8551.
One machine, one crew that knows it inside out. That's the whole idea.
