Signs your CVT needs attention
- Judder when pulling off or between 20–40 km/h
- Rattling or whirring from the transmission case
- Higher revs but less top speed than before
- Sluggish acceleration or a "rubber band" feel
- Burnt rubber smell after riding
These are classic symptoms of a worn belt, flattened rollers, glazed clutch shoes or a tired torque spring. Left alone, a snapped belt will leave you stranded — and can take the variator with it.
